The thermometer reading helps compare stages of oven operation if you know where it comes from. The temperature at the probe does not have to be the temperature of every part of the bottom. Before determining readiness for baking, check the installation location, the device range, and the way the result is read.
The probe measures at its location
The manufacturer describes the Vitcas probe thermometer for proper installation in a bread or pizza oven. The discussed variant has a range up to 500°C and a scale in degrees Celsius and Fahrenheit. Do not exceed the range or install the probe accidentally in any position other than intended.
The reading depends on local conditions and the method of installation. Do not treat it as a simultaneous measurement of the entire chamber. When changing the sensor's location, previous observations may need to be re-evaluated.
The floor and door are different measurement locations
Surface measurement applies to the selected area, and the probe reads the conditions at the installation site. Different results do not automatically indicate damage to one device. The oven presents differences depending on the fire's position, heating time, and stage of operation.
Vitcas door with thermometer allows readings at the door. This point also does not describe every part of the floor. Distinguish the functions of both solutions, instead of assigning a single oven temperature to all readings.
Compare results under similar conditions
Record the location, unit, time, and the state of the fire and doors. If one reading is taken with the chamber open and another after being closed for a longer period, the conditions change. Similarly, a measurement taken after removing fuel refers to a different stage than intense heating.
Operate the instrument according to the instructions, taking into account the hot probe. Do not grab it just because the dial is outside the chamber. A simple record of readings will make it easier to plan future bakes without treating a single number as automatic confirmation of conditions throughout the entire oven.
